A REAL LIFE “BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S”: BLUE BOX CAFÉ IN NEW YORK

My beloved mother went a little bit crazy when she gave me “Tiffany” as a third name. When I asked her why, she told me that she was so in love with the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, that she wanted me to become a little bit like Audrey Hepburns character Holly Golightly.

Until today, the iconic image from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany” from 1961 has not lost in radiance. When she climbs out of a typical yellow taxi as Holly Golightly in the early morning hours in New York to look at the displays in the shop window of Tiffany while having her croissant and having a cup of coffee. But now, you can have proper breakfast there – in real life.

Perfect details: Even the plates are in the style of Tiffany’s blue.

Anyone who’s in New York, can go to the Tiffany “Blue Box Café” on Fifth Avenue, which opened on 10th November 2017. First, get to the fourth floor at Tiffany’s New York flagship store and then enter the small coffee shop. It does indeed look like a life-size jewelry box. Adorable.

THE CUTEST INTERIOR

Unlike Holly Golightly, who had to eat her breakfast in front of the shop window, at Bluebox Café you can hang out in turquoise leather chairs, next to white flowers, appealing interior details and eat from their perfectly matching turquoise plates.

The walls, also in turquoise, look like a small version of Tiffany shop windows. Don’t they?

WHAT TO EAT?

The menu features a selection of signature New York dishes: truffle eggs, salmon bagels and of course the all-time-classic avocado toast. (In this article you can read more about other avocado delights from New York). There is also a Lobster Avocado Salad with Chicken and the Charles Lewis Tiffany Club Sandwich on the menu. Both a tribute to the founder of the company. With an average price of 25 euros, the Tiffany experience at the Café is a bit more affordable than getting an engagement ring downstairs in the store. Which, despite this, we wouldn’t deny to get afterwards.
