3 UPCOMING SCANDINAVIAN BRANDS TO KNOW

Right. We all know the well-established Scandinavian brands Acne, Samsøe&Samsøe and even Wood Wood. It seems to me that everyone is into nordic brands nowadays. So when I traveled to Stockholm (read my 24 hours guide here) and to Copenhagen, I kept an eye out for some smaller unknown brands, that I would like to show you here. I’ve also already adopted two of them permanently in my wardrobe:

Santosh from Finland

Santosh is a cashmere brand owned by two very nice Finish sisters. First the girls started with producing beautiful shawles in Nepal and Mongolia, by now they have a whole collection for men and women. I love their classic shapes and cuts, that also sometimes have an oversized look. In fact my favorite two cashmere pieces are from Santosh:  the shawl in green and in dark grey. I constantly wear them because the colors match everything and they’re super cozy. Especially on the long flights to Argentina – they are perfect! You can get them at Nómad Shop in Helsinki, at their Showroom in Stockholm, in some selected retailers in Europe and of course in their online shop.

C.QP from Stockholm

Designed in Sweden, produced in Portugal. Almost 80 percent of the shoe is handcrafted to give each sneaker a unique look and feel. So if you are looking for something cool but don’t want to wear the mainstream brands, then C.QP is for you. Most of their shoes are are unisex and generally have a laid-back elegant look. Materials vary from suede to leather. I personally love the cream white Tramac sneaker. I wear them to any outfit, they always look cool and fashionable.

Flyboyant from Sweden

Little bees, seahorses or flies in the kitchen? Yes please! Nathalie Engelbert, the designer of these fun and colourful trays, wanted to create a functional object that brings a bit of humour to your household. She uses bright colours and simple designs on laminated birch wood. The trays are super cute and also a great gift idea. My personal favorite? The “Seahorse” in green-mint-pink.
