On the beautiful island of Hvar, just off the coast of Croatia lies this hidden gem that we came across some weeks ago. Little Green Bay calls itself a non-hotel rather more a luxurious guest-house for travelers looking for a tranquil escape on the Mediterranean sea.
THE DESIGN
Founded by french expats and brother and sister the old restored farmhouse integrates perfectly with nature. Here Julie, a Parisian designer, and Mathieu a hospitality expert have made their dreams come true. Wood and stone structures with lots of windows seemingly blend the indoor and outdoor areas.
THE ROOMS
With only 15 rooms, Little Green Bay offers a very intimate getaway experience. Each room features a terrace with views of the Adriatic or the garden and an outdoor shower. For hot summers like this year, all the rooms have air conditioning. For the ultimate relaxation, there’s also a little spa, where guests can enjoy massages beneath the trees.
THE BISTRO
Delicious quinoa salad with avocado, cucumbers, cashew nuts and rosemary sauce, an original salad nicoise or Mezze with raita, tabouleh, and grilled peppers. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and you can choose from a wide variety of Mediterranean dishes. Yes, we’re definitely hinting at the two owners here, being french you can be sure they know exactly what should be on your plate to make you happy.
THE BEACH
The setting is perfect. Tucked away in a private bay, your day will be lazy and relaxed. For the ones that need a little more action, there are great possibilities for snorkeling and paddling or boat excursions to literally ride off into the sunset.
