There is at least one pizzeria in every district of Berlin, that claims to have the best pizza in the city. And yes, our only chance to know for sure, was to have them all. So finally, after we’ve recovered from an overdose of cheese and burned off some of these delicious carbs, find here our ultimate guide to the best pizza restaurants in Berlin:

Wedding: Stranero

Not only because I sometimes stay in this district when I’m in town, I will always come back to Stranero for their delicious pizza creations. Founded by a South-American and an Italian guy, they manage to keep the atmosphere as convenient as possible, which makes it my favorite place for a Sunday dinner. Besides my favorite one, the pizza “Stranero”, they also have a vegan pizza with hummus on offer. In order to distinguish themselves from other pizza places in Wedding, all types of pizza are also offered in a second version, namely with wholemeal dough. Leave room for dessert, because you shouldn’t miss the Nutella filled calzone.

Prenzlauer Berg: La Lupa e l’Orso

Fantastic pizza a friendly, lively unpretentious atmosphere and nice hosts. When the place is full, you feel like you’re part of a big Italian family celebration. You can choose between “rosse” (with tomato sauce) and “bianche” (without sauce). And also worth it: get a selection of different starters to share. And in summertime, it’s perfect to sit outside.

Neukölln: Monella

It’s not just about the oven, which looks like a disco ball. This restaurant in Neukölln is famous for their Neapolitan style pizza, with a crispier crust than at the other restaurants we went to. So those of you who don’t like their pizza too slicky, will become fans of Monella. Because their choice of ingredients for their pizzas is just right, especially the fior di Latte cheese and San Marzano tomatoes.

Kreuzberg: Zola

In a courtyard at Maybachufer, you find this truly amazing Neapolitan pizza. But it’s not all about the ingredients, from delicious smoked mozzarella to a selection of tasty prosciutto, the oven is the gem of this restaurant. The pizza is baked for not longer than two minutes in the blazing heat of 485 degrees Celsius, which makes it perfect and the Zola restaurant to an favored classic when it comes to Pizza in Berlin.

Friedrichshain: Zerostress

Those festival addicts among us, may know their food truck from the Fusion Festival or several other occasions, when their delicious pizza saved our lives. Since 2015, you find their stationary restaurant Zerostress in Berlin, with the freshest Italian ingredients and unexpected combinations like e.g. gorgonzola, pumpkin and rosemary. And they sticked to their original idea from the festivals: Rather have a huge slice, which is about 30 centimeters long, than order a whole pizza. So you have the best excuse to order several slices and to try many more of their tasty creations – of course with zero stress.

Mitte: Papa Pane di Sorrento

We must admit, this district isn’t well-known for its Italian diversity when it comes to Pizza. Even though, Papa Pane di Sorrento is not a secret tip, this restaurant never disappointed our cravings until today. The restaurant is well-known for its stone oven pizza, especially the one with fresh buffalo mozzarella (which isn’t baked in the oven), has won several prizes in Italy and Germany.

The Newcomer: W Pizza

As you can imagine, this restaurant is still in its initial phase, but it is worth remembering its name. The interior is a mixture of hip designer furniture and the owners are a spin-off from another pizza joint from this list. So it’s very promising and at our testing, the Neapolitan pizza creations were outstandingly perfect. The name “W Pizza” comes from the two dough options you can choose from: wheat dough or wheat dough mixed with weed. Especially the white pizza with eggplant cream is a pizza masterpiece.
